Character Abbotsford hosted a speaker event that featured recently retired Abbotsford Police Chief, Mike Serr. Presented in an interview format, the discussion focussed on Serr’s career path and the various major challenges that the community has faced during his leadership. Serr shared his learning throughout the interview that focussed on the themes of effective communication, caring for people, and strength found in community.

Mayor Ross Siemens, a member of the Character Council, presented Mike Serr with a plaque and gift on behalf of Character Abbotsford for the exemplary leadership that he has provided to the Abbotsford community.

Character Abbotsford will be opening three council events each year to the public. The next events this year will be a tour of UFV’s Peace and Reconciliation Centre on January 11, 2024 and the Character in Action Awards on May 9, 2024.
